How do dish flags relate to my allergens and diets?
Set your allergens and diets once in your Mesava profile. On any Mesava restaurant menu, each dish is then checked against the ingredients the restaurant published and flagged with a plain-language reason, so you know what to ask before you order.
What do the dish flags mean?
No flagged ingredients means nothing in the published ingredients matches your profile. May contain means there could be traces, shared equipment, or an ingredient the kitchen has not fully listed. Contains means a published ingredient is something you avoid. Flags describe the ingredient list, not a guarantee — always confirm with the kitchen.
Can my family with different allergies and diets dine together?
Yes. Start a party in Mesava and share the invite code or QR. Everyone's allergies and diets combine into one table view, and the strictest need wins — so a peanut allergy, a gluten-free diet and a vegetarian can browse the same menu together.
How do restaurants list allergens and dietary options on Mesava?
Restaurants add their dishes and ingredients in their own Mesava dashboard, with optional AI help for reading an ingredients list. Mesava does the allergen and dietary matching, so flags come from restaurant-sourced ingredients rather than guesses from a photo.
How current is the information on a restaurant page?
Each restaurant page shows the date its details were last updated. Verified information is accurate up to that date. Recipes, suppliers and prep areas change, so confirm with the restaurant before ordering. For a restaurant that has not published details, ask and confirm in person.
What does Mesava cost?
Mesava is free for guests, including profiles, parties and dependents. Restaurants pay a monthly subscription; the first 25 Utah restaurants keep founding pricing.
Does Mesava replace asking the kitchen?
No. Mesava helps you decide faster and ask better questions. For a severe allergy, always confirm with the kitchen before you order.
